Origami Deer

This origami deer have structure of Mr.Kawabata's Yoda.
And I imitated the finishing touches of Mr.Maekawa's reindeer.
Mr.Kawabata and Mr.Maekawa are very famous origami artists in Origami world.
I respect them.

Origami frog on wet folding

Do you like a frog ?
Maybe, many people don't like it.
But I like very much.They are very cute and their eyes are very kind.

Today, I folded an origami frog.
I used water.
I wetted an origami paper after folded the frog, and I made a frog form.
When it dry out, complete.
The technique is called "wet folding".

Tiger from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

Origami tiger.
Of course, it is 1 sheet of square paper. And it was not used scissors.
This work is the most complex in the book.

I pasted the big yellow paper on the big black paper.
Because, I don't have a paper that the front side is yellow and the reverse side is black.
Such a paper is seldom on sale.
So, I had to make the tiger paper.

The face had become gentle. I wished to fold more stern face.
It look like an uncle.
Next time that if I fold same one, I want to fold a very terrible tiger like god father.

Lion from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

A Happy New Year !

I gave the room a good sweep in the new year.
I have finished it at last.
Then, I allowed me to fold a paper.

I folded an origami lion.

I liked the mane.

In this year, I want to make the origami course on this blog.
I want the origami beginner to fold a paper.
I want the middle level player to fold more complex origami.
And I want to improve my folding skill and English.
I wish make every effort to do it.

Sheep,wolf,giraffe and dog from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

This time, I introduce four animals at once.

Sheep

The sheep's color is gray, because he is muddy playing outside. Maybe...
It is beautiful using the front and the back of a paper.

Wolf

I thought that it is wonderful representation of the fur.
This work is 22.5 degrees group.

Giraffe

Since she is goofy, she have forgotten her pattern of the body at home. Maybe...
This giraffe is the only 15 degrees group work in the book.
Corner of the square is 90 degrees.
The corner that is folded in half become 45 degrees.
Then, fold in half again, and the corner become 22.5 degrees.
There is a lot of 22.5 degrees work in origami world.
22.5 degrees is a quarter of 90 degrees, 15 degrees is one sixth of 90 degrees.
So, it is unusual structural origami.

Dog

So cute!But this is difficult, I took 90 minutes.

Dogs is chasing sheep.

Wolf who is woken up is chasing noisy guys.

Cat from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

I used "TANTO paper".
It is harder than general origami.
So, it is not suitable for difficult work.
However, the work finished is more beautiful than normal origami.

This cat is used normal origami.
His face part was difficult.
White points stand out on general origami paper when it is folded many times.
Then, there are many white points on difficult part.

Comparison.
Maybe, you can not look any white points on "TANTO paper", can't you?

Hippopotamus from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

This hippopotamus's face is very cute.
Small nose,little eyes,tiny ears and short legs.
I want to pat his head.
But, folding this work was much more difficult than it looks.
I took 3 hours.

This time, I used a paper that called "Karape lapis".
I was able to express the texture of hippo's skin.

Chinese zodiac of next year

It is already the end of the year, isn't it?
I remember the zodiac when it became the end of the year.
In Japan, we use Chinese zodiac.
In 2012 is the year of the dragon.
The next year is the year of the snake.
Then, I folded a snake.

This snake looks easy.
But, it has strange point.
The length from head to tail is longer than the length of diagonal that is the square paper.
It is mysterious, isn't it?

Horned owl from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

Horned Owl is called "Mimizuku" in Japanese.
In Japan, when we call out boys, we often call name-"kun".
This case, "Mimizuku-kun".
I call "Mimizukun" for short.

Mimizukun like sleeping.
Morning sun is too bright to him sleepy.
I thought so when I saw this face.

This is difficult.But the diagram is wonderful.

Small animals.

This is rabbit.He is waiting for his friend.

Rooster and pig from "Works of Hideo KOMATSU"

Tonight(now 23:00 in Japan), I have folded a rooster and pigs.

This rooster is easy.I took 5 minutes.
I used 15cm*15cm paper.It is sufficient size to fold.

And I folded pigs after rooster.
I like this model!This model has caught a pig distinctive features.
And very cute and easy.
I took about 10 minutes.
