Hercules Beetle the Before and After

In the summer, we go out to find and catch some insects.
It's so hot this summer, then I fold an insects in cool room.

By the way, I folded same model in July.2010.

I thought that my origami skill little progressed in 3 years.
Persistence pays off.

The leg, my favorite part in this origami.

Dream of boys

Do you like insects?
I don't like.
However, I liked insects in boyhood.
Still now, I think that boys still have a longing for beetle.
Especially hercules beetle is a dream of boys.

I have not cut anywhere.This is only one sheet of paper.
I used Japanese paper.
The dream when I was a boy, have come true.

My first Original

This mantis is my first work!
It is simple structure but I made without looking at any Origami book.
I like this work.

Pill bug and Cockroach

Pill bug and Cockroach.
Many Japanese hate cockroaches. I am the one person.
Maybe it is disliked the most.
Whenever running up against a stone wall, pill bugs move left.
But next time they move right.
Left, right, left, right...
The purpose is to run away a far.

Hermit crab

This is "Hermit crab".
Japanese name is "Yadokari".
"Yado" means a hotel.
"Kari" is "借り" in kanji, it means borrowing.
They borrow a natural hotel.

I had made this before.This time,I used good quality paper.
Paper is good,but picture is bad.
I want to take the photograph well.

Cyclommatus metalifer

Origami Stag Beetle.
This insect is called Cyclommatus metalifer.
This stag beetle is not in Japan.
It is interesting that the paper folding that is the culture of Japan expresses the one in a different country.
